Infested Blood - Tribute to Apocalypse CD
Extremely brutal death metal from Brazil
Formed in January 1999 Brazilian death metallers Infested Blood are already a fairly known name in the metal underground. The band has been around for a decade now and has released three full-length albums with Tribute To Apocalypse being their second. It was recorded in 2005 and now it’s time for it’s re-release with better and improved sound, a step that will bring them closer to wider metal audience.
The album contains only about 28 minutes of extreme death metal, but it is quite enough, like one of the biggest pearls in metal world - Reign in Blood is app. of the same length. It means two things; you’re never really bored as it is delivered fast and directly, and mostly because everything has been said that should be told, no reason to include more unnecessary sounds and songs that were useless. Those 8 songs included on this CD are a pure example of how a death metal record should sound; it is a lesson in heaviness, speed and brutality. In other words; it is violence in new school style.
There’s no doubt about this quartet’s playing skills, but to times it feels a bit chaotic and almost impossible to follow the complicated songs that Infested Blood is creating. Vocals are most of the time guttural and somehow dark with few additional screams that sound like coming from the deepest hell. The final result is very extreme and deadly Death metal, that is so aggressive and brutal that it brings back memories of the golden days of Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Deeds Of Flesh, Disgorge and similar extreme acts. It is important to note that this release also contains two videos for the songs “Walking Through Infernal Catacombs” & “Impaler Deeds”.
